Speaking of eco-friendlier, the Varsity also has a PFOA-free DWR coating that keeps you dry while drastically limiting the harmful emissions created by traditional DWR applications. Fully taped seams prevent moisture from seeping in through the cracks, a powder skirt keeps snow from going up your jacket when you're surfing through the deep stuff, and zippered underarm vents allow you to dump heat on warm spring days.
